Portable Water Well Drilling Rig – Truck Mounted Hydraulic Rotary Drill

This is a water well drill rig for the guy who works rural – farm wells, ranch stock tanks, residential properties with no city water. It's mounted on a used but solid single‑axle truck chassis, so you're not paying for a fancy custom carrier. The mast is a two‑stage hydraulic unit that raises and lowers in about a minute. When it's down, the whole rig clears a 12‑foot garage door.

The rotary head is direct‑drive hydraulic with a gearbox, not a chain. Chains stretch and need tensioning; gears just turn. Speed range is wide – slow for rock, fast for sand. Down pressure is adjustable from the seat, and there's a pressure gauge so you know how hard you're pushing. Pullback is the same cylinder reversed, strong enough to break loose a stuck string without pulling the truck out of level.

Product Details

  1. Pulls Pipe Without a Second Winch
The pullback system is built into the same hydraulic circuit that runs the rotation. You finish drilling, flip a lever, and the rig pulls the string right out. No separate cable winch to rig up, no wrestling pipe by hand. One operator, one machine, one smooth motion.

  2. The Mud Pump Matches the Ground You're In
You dial the flow up or down from the control panel. Sandy formation? Run it wide open to lift the cuttings. Hard clay? Slow it down so you don't wash out the hole. The pump and the rotary head talk to each other – you're not guessing or over‑watering the hole.

  3. Carries Enough Rod to Finish Before Lunch
The rod rack is sized for a full day's work in typical residential well depths (150‑250 feet). You load it in the morning and you're not stopping to restock rods at 10 a.m. On shallow jobs, you might not touch the spare rod pile at all.

  4. Levels Itself on Crooked Ground
The outriggers are independent and the controls are simple. Park on a side slope, drop the low side first, then bring the high side down until the bubble reads level. Takes a minute. The mast stays straight, the hole stays straight, and you're not drilling on an angle.

  5. Fits Down Dirt Roads Without Taking Out Fences
The truck chassis is a standard single‑axle, not a wide‑track specialty unit. You turn around in farm lanes, back through gates, and drive under low tree limbs. If your service truck fits, this rig fits. You get to the well site without tearing up the lane or calling a wrecker.
